Windows 8 USB Installation
Lets be honest, installing by CD’s are a thing of the past. With USB 2.0 and recently introduced 3.0 there is no reason to not install by USB.
You can download the Windows USB download tool from the Microsoft Store (It’s free don’t worry!) here.
If you need to re download or haven’t yet downloaded the Windows 8 Preview ISO Image you can get that from Microsoft’s website as well found here.
The installation is as straight forward as this!
- Choose the ISO file.
- Choose media type
- Select USB device
Or just Follow the screenshots below!
This is the first screen you’ll run into when launching the Windows USB download tool.
Browse for the image you wish to install onto your USB.
Select the option “USB Device”
Select the correct USB device from the drop down menu and click “Begin Copying”
This process should take 10-15 minutes depending on the performance of your PC.
If everything went fine you should get the “Backup Completed” status and be good to go!
Simply reboot and install Windows 8!
